Update on Our New Website

17th July 2010

Originally we estimated the end of May for our new website to be live, the design and build has taken us la lot longer than we expected but it will be here soon. We have just commenced testing so if all goes well we should have it to you in the next two to three weeks.

What differences are you going to see and what will you be able to do?

The actual look of the new website has completely changed, the main influence is our new logo below but it is more about what the new site will give you.

Photo Albums: Each user will be able to create their own albums, I found this awesome because I can add all the images for my back and keep them together.

Blogs: You will have your own blog, you can write about anything and everything.

Network: You can create your own network and have your own followers, people can subscribe to your blog. You can send messages to people and create friends within the network.

Competitions: We have created competitions, you will be able to enter your art work and be judged by the online community.

I am sure there is plenty more within the website but I will leave some surprises for you when we go live. Stay tuned

Talking Tattoos New Logo

Our website is currently in the middle of a total rebuild, it will be very different to what you are seeing here and will have a lot more functionality than you're used to. We are planning on the new site being live towards the end of May so we hope you keep an eye out for it.

Right now we want to share with you our new logo, this logo is part of the re-design and we hope you like it as much as we do.

The image is a half Horse and half Eagle. The Eagle represents "energy that is above what is" and the Horse represent "practicality". Underneath the image are the Latin words for "Veneratio Supernus", which means Respect Above.

Everything that tattoos are to us our logo represents to you.

Samoan and Polynesian Tattooing

A few changes coming to the website

17th February 2010

We have been busy behind the scenes over the last month and you will be seeing the changes coming to the website over the next couple of months.

We now have our new (and original) logo for Talking Tattoos and I think it is an amazing representation of what we do and who you are as our guest to the website. Along with the new logo we are finalizing a complete website overhaul. The old one has been fantastic but it is time to create a new look.

We are also going to be introducing Tattoo Designs in the future, you will be able to select, buy and download your designs and then take to your tattoo artist. I am looking forward to keeping you updated in the future.

We are starting the year off to a flying start, we have launch a competition on 99Designs to have a new company logo designed for Talking Tattoos. This logo will be launched with our new website design.

Selling Your Tattoo Whilst Your Alive

This is an unusual story of a man who has sold his Virgin Mary tattoo on his back to a collector for $260,000.00.

The man selling the tattoo has to display it three times a year and then when he dies the artwork will go to the owner. I love my tattoos and I think they will eventually be going with me. You can read the full article HERE.

The Ink and Stay Package

How is this, the newly opened Hotel Erwin in Venice Beach California is offering an Ink and Stay package. When you book this package the hotel will give you a $100 voucher towards your tattoo by their in-house tattoo artist.

The 5300 year old Tyrolean mummy that was discovered in 1991 had 57 tattoos that were created using fireplace soot.

World's Most Tattooed Person

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to meet the World's most tattooed person, Lucky Diamond Rich. Lucky is an amazing street performer and I found his act to be highly entertaining and enjoyable, you can visit Lucky's website to read more about him.

Lucky has been the most tattooed person in the World since 2006 according to the Guinness Book of Records, I have added some photographs of Lucky below from his recent show.

New Tattoo Artist section of website

We have now finished the Tattoo Artist section of the website, it did take us longer than we originally anticipated and we love the end result.

This new section allows Tattoo Artists to create a profile of themselves, they can describe their studio and the type of work they may specialize in. Visitors can view their portfolio and the Artists customers can leave comments about the Artist.

This new area has all been designed to help you find a Tattoo Artist in your local area, so if you’re looking for an artist visit our Tattoo Artists section and start browsing.
